AJ Little was brought up in a small village near Chester-le-Street, North-East England. He was never exposed to any form of live music or performance as a youngster; however, this did not hinder his interest in commercial dance music.

At the age of 16 he was asked by a good friend (a DJ at a local hotel) if he would like to see what life was like working as a DJ. Within seconds he accepted the offer. It didn't take him long before he started heading regular gigs at the hotel alongside a team of four other DJs.

AJ's interest in mixing progressed steadily along with his reputation at the hotel for being a devoted DJ who could be relied upon to pull out all the stops whatever the occasion. Over the next three years he continued to perfect his skills whilst working as a DJ & helping out with the installation of sound and lighting equipment at various other gigs; it was during this period that he developed his interest in the underground music scene.

Listening to what other DJs were playing, AJ soon found his forte in dance music with influences coming from Eric Prydz and Steve Angello. It wasn't long before he was asked to play an opening set at a small, but modest night called Essence at the Fish Tank in Durham. His combination of house, tech house, techno and electro appealed to the promoters who, through the strong baselines and intoxicating melodies he played, quickly realised his potential for subsequent Essence nights.

AJ is not a charlatan who pretends to have been and played everywhere, claiming he knows everything there is to know about dance music. He is one of those genuine, grounded guys dedicated to his passion and his audience, never forgetting his roots. He is a hardworking DJ; one who is not afraid to play anywhere, for anyone.

This humble music maestro has covered everything from high profile corporate functions in glitzy hotels to mainstream bars and clubs in city centres, as well as down right dirty warehouses in the midst of the countryside. Whether it be a wedding, house party, university ball, underground club night or some other random get-together, if you are lucky enough to be a guest at a party or event headlined by AJ Little, be prepared to be entertained and rocked ‘til the early hours of the morning!
